The Movie in 3 Sentences
It’s rare for a modern sequel or reboot to genuinely stand alongside the original, but this is one of those exceptions. It keeps the same sweeping, hypnotic visual style while continuing the story in a way that feels natural rather than forced. It pays respect to the original without simply recycling it, introduces new ideas without breaking the world, and expands on its themes with surprising confidence.
If anything, I found it more accessible than the original. It drags less, has a more compelling protagonist, and manages to feel both familiar and completely its own thing.
