How the Movie Changed Me

  • The Nazis succeeded not only because of the leaders at the top, but because ordinary people looked away, stayed silent, rationalized it, or convinced themselves it wasn't their problem.
  • Despite the justice it served for millions of people who died and their families, the trial was controversial for many reasons. Nothing happens for no reason; there is always someone making the history with a conviction.
  • Are people the same or are some more influential than others?

My Top 3 Quotes

  • Do you know why it happened here? Because people let it happen.
  • Years from now, I wonder what you will say about us. Will you even acknowledge we were human?
  • Just because someone is your ally, does not mean they are on your side.

Thoughts

Quite a serendipity that I came across this movie the same day I was doing the research for the itinerary for our Germany trip. I’m very excited to go see the courtroom where the trial was held in September.
