The Movie in 3 Sentences

It was a brilliant dark comedy about class struggle. South Korea is incredibly dense, and that closeness creates a constant sense of comparison—everyone watching where they stand, who is above them, and who they might be able to climb past. The people at the top barely notice how badly they treat those serving them, while the people below are constantly hustling just to stay afloat. But none of this is portrayed in an obvious or preachy way. It feels more like a carefully choreographed dance where everyone understands the rules, even if an outsider might not immediately see them.

Everyone works insanely hard chasing the idea of a better life—long hours, multiple jobs, very little sleep—but so often that dream still leads nowhere. Sometimes all you’re left with is, quite literally, the smell of sewage.

Every line feels carefully written and every scene has a purpose. Funny, uncomfortable, sad, and viciously observant. 10/10.
