The movie in 3 sentences
If you’ve ever gone through something really painful, or watched someone close to you go through it, a lot of what this woman goes through feels very real. The movie is basically about not knowing how to deal with your own pain, and also not knowing how to help someone you love deal with theirs.
What really stuck with me is the idea that, in the end, everyone is kind of alone in their suffering. It’s a really heavy movie, and honestly not one I’d recommend to just anyone, especially if they’re already going through a rough time. But for me, it put a lot of things into perspective. It shows pain in such a raw way that you come out of it thinking about what you or people close to you have already survived, and how small some of your everyday worries suddenly seem.
