- After his brother's suicide, Carmen "Carmy" Berzatto (played by Jeremy Allen White), an award-winning fine-dining chef, returns to Chicago to run the family's struggling sandwich shop, The Original Beef of Chicagoland. He must navigate debt, grief, and a kitchen resistant to change. Carmy clashes with the restaurant's longtime staff while trying to introduce professional standards and modern techniques. Over time, mutual respect develops, especially through his partnership with the ambitious young chef Sydney (played by Ayo Edebiri), though the pressure pushes everyone to their breaking point.
- The season 1 reminded me of the time at the grad school - where everything was all about perfection delivered in limited amount of time. I had to stop watching the show after season 1 because it became too much emotional.
